The 21 Coldest Colleges In The Country According To College Prowler

The 21 Coldest Colleges In The Country
|

A massive winter storm is about to bear down on half the country, leaving several inches of snow in areas from Chicago to New England. After the snow fall, forecasters are predicting a blast of cold air in the coming days. But for students at some schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin, this sounds like a normal winter weather report.

The website College Prowler named the colleges and universities with the coldest winters, and many of them are located in the upper Midwest.

At the "coldest" school, Minnesota State University - Moorhead, as one reviewer put it , "The winters are brutal, and summers are too short."

The ranking is based on "student reviews of weather on campus, average high and low temperatures during summer and winter, and average summer and winter precipitation amounts," the website explained. If a school is not listed, it's due to a lack of student reviews and weather data available to ensure accuracy in evaluating the colleges, according to the website's parent company, Niche .

Check out the 21 college campuses in the list below rated as the schools with the coldest winters in the country*, or head to College Prowler to see the full results.
