If Harry Potter Doesn't Believe In The Friend Zone, Neither Should You

Daniel Radcliffe Says The 'Friend Zone' Is A Male Invention
|

He spent all of his teenage years embedded in a fantastical world of magic and wizardry, but if there's one thing that Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe definitely just can't get his head around, it's the friend zone.

Radcliffe sat down with Buzzfeed Brews last week and chatted about "What If," his new movie about friends (maybe) falling in love. As a follow up, the interviewer asked Radcliffe his opinion of the friend zone. Where does the idea -- that sex is the preferred outcome when a man and a woman are acquainted -- even come from?

Radcliffe fielded the question with ease.

"The idea of the friend zone is a terrible male idea. Have you ever heard a girl say they're in the friend zone? It's a thing that I think men should be really careful about using," Radcliffe said, to cheers from the audience.

He chuckled, and continued, "I definitely think the idea of friend zone is just men going, 'This woman won't have sex with me.'"

Ten points to Gryffindor!
