The New York Yankees may never live down their fifth-inning collapse in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday and star alums Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were shocked by it as well. (Watch the video below.)

Jeter struck a more subtle critical tone.

I dont know if Ive ever quite seen an inning like this, Jeter said. Especially in a World Series or postseason game. The Yankees made some mistakes. You cant make mistakes against a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers. That particular inning, you gave them six outs.

Both Jeter and Rodriguez were members of the last Yankees team to win the World Series, in 2009. Jeter, one of the most beloved former Bronx Bombers, won additional championships in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000.
