Giant Gob Of Gorilla Glue Pulled From Dogs Gut

What a sticky situation.

A Weimaraner in Oklahoma City had an experience that is hard to stomach: He swallowed a half bottle of Gorilla Glue.

Krystal Wilson said the sticky situation began when Lake, her 6-month-old pup, saw some glue that was being used for a home improvement project and mistook it for food.

That night, Lake soon started showing signs of an advanced case of canine constipation.

"I didn't think anything of it, until that night when she started vomiting," Wilson told CNN.

Wilson immediately stuck her glue-gobbling pooch in the car and took her to a vet.

"Just a small amount had just swollen up to the size of a turkey leg," Wilson told KFOR TV. "It was huge, pretty much took the size of her stomach."

There are specific signs when a dog ingests Gorilla Glue and other types of strong adhesives, according to PetPoisonHelpline.com.

These include excessive drooling, vomiting, loss of appetite, retching and a distended stomach.

Veterinarian Dr. Leonard Baez used an X-ray machine to examine Lake. Once he saw the giant glue mass, the dog was immediately rushed into surgery.

Two hours later, the vet, Dr. Leonard Baez pulled out a big hunk of glue that looked like a perfect mold of Lake's stomach, with bits of the glue bottle and grass inside it.

Wilson admits feeling unglued about what happened.

"It's hard not to feel guilty," she told KFOR TV. You feel like you kind of failed. We were very upset that we failed, but you can't prevent everything."

She said Lake was "back to her crazy self"within a few hours

Fortunately, Lake is back home.

"We're very lucky that she's here with us, back to her crazy self," Wilson said.
