Here's A Schedule Of Inauguration Events

This is what to watch for over the next few days as Donald Trump becomes the 45th president of the United States.

Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States on Friday, marking the official beginning of his administration

The swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol is just one of many events surrounding the inauguration . Here’s a guide to the key events over the next few days. (All times are Eastern.)

Thursday, January 19

3:30 p.m. — Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence attend a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. 

4 p.m. — The “Make America Great Again Welcome Celebration” kicks off on the National Mall, featuring  performances by Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down and Lee Greenwood. 

7:30 p.m. — Trump and Pence attend a candlelight dinner with major donors at D.C.’s Union Station.

Friday, January 20

8:30 a.m. — Trump, Pence and their families attend a church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church near the White House. 

9:30 a.m. — The Obamas host the Trumps at the White House for tea before departing for the swearing-in ceremony.

9:30 a.m.Musical performances  begin at the U.S. Capitol. 

11:30 a.m. — Opening remarks begin at the U.S. Capitol.

Noon — Trump is sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

Shortly after noon — The Obamas depart the Capitol.

1 p.m. — The newly inaugurated president and vice-president attend the traditional luncheon at the Capitol with congressional leaders.

3 p.m. to 5 p.m. — The inaugural parade follows Trump and Pence as they travel down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House. Here’s a list of the groups performing in the parade.

7 p.m. to 11 p.m.  — The Trumps and Pences attend the three official inaugural balls: the Liberty Ball and Freedom Ball, both held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and the Salute to Our Armed Services Ball at the National Building Museum.

Saturday, January 21

10 a.m. — The Trumps and Pences attend a prayer service at Washington National Cathedral. 

10 a.m. — The Women’s March on Washington begins with a rally near the Capitol. Solidarity marches will be held across the country .
