Gaten Matarazzo is one talented and humble thirteen year old. From starring as the adorable but wise Dustin on Stranger Things to taking Instagram selfies with his new legion of fans there is nothing that Matarazzo can’t do.

Which is why it is no shock that before he became a Netflix star he was actually a Broadway star! He played the equally lovable Gavroche in the 2014 New York revival of Les Miserables . Theater geeks unite! During that summer instead of going to the beach or baseball games with his friends he would take a bus from his South Jersey home to Manhattan for day long rehearsals and nightly performances. Talk about dedication.

His dream is to play the titular role in Phantom of the Opera one day as he told TheaterMania during a day they spent running around backstage with the vivacious middle schooler, but for now there is an amazing video circulating of him singing the heart wrenching song “Bring Him Home” from Les Mis.

In the clip he seems to be at a children’s karaoke bar, and as he starts his opening notes, going from his chest voice to his head voice the room goes quiet. Seriously, just watch it. The kid is talented beyond his years and is a future Jean Valjean in the making for sure.
