The creators behind "The Good Wife" aren't wasting any time in between series. After their long-running CBS drama winds down this spring, Michelle and Robert King will debut "BrainDead," a comedy thriller set in the world of Washington, D.C. politics

The upcoming show, which premieres on June 13, follows Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a young Hill staffer and the daughter of a Democratic political dynasty who left D.C. to become a documentary filmmaker. After returning to the family business, Laurel becomes unlikely friends with Gareth (Aaron Tveit), the smart, hardworking legislative director to a top Republican, Senator Red Wheatus, played by Tony Shalhoub of "Monk" fame.

According to CBS, Laurel discovers two things: "The government has stopped working, and tiny bugs have come to Earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers."

Hmmm ... Sound familiar? CBS execs say the series reflects what's happening in current politics, and "BrainDead" helps to explain why.

CBS hasn't unveiled too many details from its new summer series yet. The Huffington Post, though, has an exclusive first look at artwork from "BrainDead" below:
