Lauren Mikler, HuffPost Live Producer, Fakes Flawless Skin By Layering On Two Foundations

Well, This Is One Way To Get Flawless Skin
|

Whether working behind the scenes or in front of the camera, HuffPost Live producer Lauren Mikler 's makeup always looks so darn perfect. We can always expect her to be sporting an amazing lip color . (Right now her current fave is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red.) However, it takes more than just a single swipe of face makeup for her to get flawless skin.

"I have two foundations that I put on every day," Lauren told us. "My mom used to do it. She's the one who got me started. People always say, 'Your skin is so smooth.' And I'm like, 'No, it's not. It's because I layered on two foundations.' But it's not really thick."

To achieve a streak-free finish , Lauren applies a lighter shade as a base to cover up flaws. She lets it sit for a few minutes on the areas that need a little more coverage. (She saw HuffPost Live lead makeup artist Kari Bauce do this trick.) Then Lauren blends the foundation and adds the darker shade to the spots where the sun would hit like the cheeks, temples and chin (another tip she picked up from her mother). This adds a whole new meaning to looking "lit from within."
