In the aftermath of an apparent attack on a Malaysia Airlines commercial jet flying over Ukraine, international flights are taking detours from their usual routes to avoid the war-torn country. The Twitter account PlaneTalking shared the image below, which shows the dramatic re-routing in effect.

The image was taken from Flight Radar 24 , which tracks all planes in the air at a given time.

Major airlines from Delta to Turkish Airlines have announced their intention to bypass the country.
