The Internet is buzzing about a recently-published article describing the denizens of the Tea Party movement as a collective of gaping-eyed loons, awash in conspiracy theories and swastikas and birtherism and general nutloggery.

Also, the sun will rise in the morning, set in the evening and there will be high and low tides today! But actually, what makes this recent discursive on Stuff You Already Know so exciting is that it comes from Fox News , which had previously gone all out to promote this movement .

That was then, this is now-ish:

But while organizers have held the tour as a way to stay front-and-center as a political force, the rallies have also attracted the kinds of mistruths, exaggerations and conspiracy theories that make Tea Party leaders cringe. Though the movement is still trying to shore up its credentials as a grassroots power that's here to stay, the so-called "fringe" and its accompanying antics continue to give critics fodder.

The article goes on to definitively state that Obama is a Christian and legitimately born in the United States. It even comes close to almost intimating that the "death panels" aren't even a real thing! And that maybe the president isn't trying to "keep Americans unemployed," because of Leninism! I tell you, the last time I was this excited about someone being late for the party but finally arriving, it was March of 1995, and Mississippi was ratifying the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution .

In all seriousness, this is an occasion to marvel at the command and control of Rupert Murdoch. Just a week ago, Murdoch was asked about Fox News's cheerleading of the Tea Party movement at an interview for "The Kalb Report", and responded, "I don't think we should be supporting the tea party, or any other party" .

And so, now we have a "make-up call," from Rupert's lips to Fox News's keyboards! Now, maybe someone should tell Rupert about Jon Voight, because whoa !
