It's just about that time of year when I notice an influx of young girls sporting super tight cornrows -- tell-tale signs of their Caribbean spring break vacation. Considering that Bo Derek in "10" is one of the few to wear this look well, I often wonder why many don't opt for a messier , lived-in 'do.

Jacqueline Bush , an editorial and celebrity hairstylist whose clientele include Faith Hill , Gwyneth Paltrow and Jane Krakowski , helps to take the intimidation out of creating a French braid with this video tutorial. Her trick? Prep hair with a thickening spray or lightly spritz with water to gain better control.
