Gary Busey Refuses To Leave 'Dancing With The Stars' After Being Eliminated

The actor performed a Buddy Holly-themed jazz routine before he was sent home.

Gary Busey was eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars"  on Monday night, but he really didn't want to leave.

After the elimination announcement, the 71-year-old actor gave a lengthy goodbye speech , which he refused to end even after guest host Carlton Banks Alfonso Ribeiro tried to cut it short. Busey then continued to say, "The fact that I've been eliminated is false."

"My spirit with Anna [Trebunskaya] will remain in this room throughout the show. So you won't see us dancing, but we'll be there," he continued.

Busey's performance for the night, a Buddy Holly-themed jazz routine, garnered him and partner Trebunskaya 16 points -- the lowest of the night. You can watch the performance below.

The top score of the night went to Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, and her partner Derek Hough. The pair performed a contemporary routine  to a cover of "Every Breath You Take," which acted as a tribute to her father.

"Dancing with the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC
