Lillian Faderman, scholar on queer issues, has been writing about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community for years. But in her newest book titled The Gay Revolution: The Story of the Struggleshe dives deep into queer history and told HuffPost Live on Wednesday she was "astonished" to learn the lengths authorities in the mid-20th century would go to "trap LGBT people." Check it out in the video above.
