Still looking for Lent ideas? Here are few ideas;

1. Give up Alternative Facts for lent. I encourage you to ask a group of 2nd graders (as I have done) this question, Whos giving up lying for Lent? My prediction is, everyone will raise their hands. Perhaps we can follow their example and give up alternative facts for Lent. Lying is lying. You can call it alternative facts, but its still a lie.

2. Give up Fake News for Lent. Theres been a lot of talk in the media these days about fake news. I agree that we need to give up fake news. This means we must get our news from trusted sources. Personally, I trust CNN , BBC, NPR, ABC, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, just to name a few. Click on this link for a graph to help guide your efforts to give up fake news for lent.

3. A MUST READ this Lent is Dignity/Washingtons : Scripture and Story. Lent Through an LGBTQ Lens. Dignity/Washington is the local chapter of the nationwide organization, Dignity USA which celebrates the wholeness of holiness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Catholics.

Lent can be a spiritually rewarding time for those who choose to grow their spiritual lives. My hope and prayer is that you will grow your spiritual life and become more aware of your connectivity to those around you.
