Gladys Knight Serenades Cop For His Birthday During Traffic Stop

The music icon made this officer's night.

Gladys Knight made a Pleasant Grove, Utah, police officer's night when she gave him the serenade of a lifetime during a traffic stop.

Knight and the driver were on their way to a choir event where the soul icon and restauranteur were scheduled to speak when Officer Paul Rogerson pulled them over. Rogerson, whose wife was riding along in the car  with him, told Knight that he and his wife were big fans and that it was his birthday.

What happened next would give anyone total birthday envy. The seven-time Grammy award-winner got out of the car and sang "Happy Birthday" to Rogerson.

"It's not everyday you pull over a vehicle in which Gladys Knight is a passenger, AND have the pleasure of hearing her sing 'Happy Birthday' to you, with your ride-along, on your birthday," the Pleasant Grove Police Department shared on their Facebook page  Thursday along with a photo of the "Midnight Train to Georgia"  singer between Rogerson and his wife.

Judging by Rogerson's smile, this may have been one of the "best thing[s] that ever happened"  to him.
