Henry Cavill Proves We Are Just As Oblivious As The Citizens Of Metropolis

"The glasses are good enough."

Glasses don't make the (super) man.

Henry "I'm not just doing this for the art " Cavill shared a video on Instagram Wednesday proving once and for all that Superman's Clark Kent disguise is much more effective than it's given credit for. His proof? A video of himself standing in the center of Times Square, currently plastered with advertisements for "Batman v Superman," without anybody recognizing him.

Cavill even wore a Superman T-shirt and was still able to avoid detection. "Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman," he cheekily captioned the post.

Cavill is, of course, referencing the doubters who believe Clark's glasses aren't a sufficient way for a Kryptonian to camouflage himself among humans. For many fans, the most unrealistic part of Superman comic book lore isn't heat vision, but that a single pair of glasses and an attitude change would disguise the most recognizable man on earth.

Well, it turns out we're just as oblivious as the citizens of Metropolis because, even without his famous frames, Cavill can go undetected.

Luckily, the British actor doesn't have to worry about disguises when he travels the world, because, if you hadn't heard, he's really rich and only flies first class.

"People will be calling me a cock as they're reading this, but travel's great as long as you're going first class. I mean, traveling to New Zealand in economy, it sucks," Cavill told Man of the World magazine . "Especially if you're over six feet. But first class? I'm not going to ever pretend to be coy about that. I love it."

Hmm, if only there was some way Cavill could disguise his pompous personality ...
