After His Job Plea Was Posted To Twitter, Homeless Man Is Flooded With Offers

For one homeless man, things have taken a turn for the better, all thanks to the power of social media.

Jordan Lockett, a 23-year-old homeless man, in Liverpool, England, gave his CV to a stranger who had stopped to offer him money earlier this week, Metro UK reported. The stranger, 18-year-old Aaron O'Dwyer, later posted the handwritten note to Twitter, saying, "Some homeless lad in town gave me his CV ... I promised I would share it."

(Story continues below.)

The note contained a heartbreaking plea for employment.

"I'm sick of wasting away now, I've been told to go to homeless centers but [they're] not helping," Lockett wrote. "It's killing my mental health."

The 23-year-old said he's a "very fast learner and hard worker," and finished with "Any chances?"

The Twitter post , which was shared on Tuesday, struck a nerve and was retweeted more than 2,000 times. A number of people have already expressed interest in offering the 23-year-old a job and Lockett is reportedly meeting with people on Thursday about potential opportunities.

“I didn’t expect anything [like this] -- I’m still getting notifications popping up on my phone," O'Dwyer told the Echo.  “The reaction has been amazing.”

A restaurant owner, a courier service and a management company among many others have all been willing to hire Lockett, the Echo reported. Others on Twitter have also offered to help with connections. Joe Anderson , the mayor of Liverpool, even tweeted the note, asking for help contacting the 23-year-old.

O'Dwyer told the Echo  that he hopes that this overwhelming support Lockett has received will help lift his spirits.

“I hope he realizes that there are people out there that do care about him,” O'Dwyer said.

N.F.A                                                                                                         Seriously lost

I’m sick of wasting away now,

I’m always being told to go to homeless centers but [they're] not helping. I think it’s because they need a job for one and because I’m young and fit and no dependencies I’m on the bottom of the priority list but it’s killing my mental health.

I write my CV like this because I don’t have anything to put on it, I worked as a motorbike mechanic for 2 years but that was from the start of year 9 to the end of high school on a course and my boss stopped picking me up 2ish weeks before I was supposed to finish and left me with no grades or experience proof.

Very fast learner and hard worker.

Can I afford not to be?

Any chances?
