If you want to poison an individual, thanks to detective novels, it is common knowledge that arsenic will do the trick. But if you set out to poison an entire country, and do your best to pump arsenic, and a whole slew of toxic substances into the lungs, veins and bloodstreams of millions of Americans, what would that make you?

If you managed to disperse these poisons into the air and waters so that theyd affect Canadians and Mexicans as well, causing birth defects, fatal cancers, and heart disease across the continent, would that not lead to your designation as an international terrorist? Whats going on here... am I speaking about a recently uncovered ISIS plot to mass murder Americans? The script of the next Matt Damon action-thriller? No, tragically this is a description of the policies of Americas next President, reality TV Star and self-admitted serial molester, Donald J. Trump.

In 2015, the Radical Islamic Terrorists that Donald Trump loves to talk about killed a total of five Americans . That same year, the far more deadly demographic of babies and toddlers killed a total of 15 people in the United States, although to be fair 13 of those cases were technically accidental suicides , albeit aided and abetted by incompetent parents and the NRAs success in murderously attacking any sane gun legislation, such as requiring that firearms be safely locked out of childrens reach . But while terrorists and gun-toting toddlers both killed fewer Americans than lightning strikes in 2015, according to a study done by MITs Laboratory for Aviation and the Environment, air pollution killed approximately 200,000 people in the United States , with approximately 5.5 million deaths globally attributed to air pollution each year .

Confronted with mass deaths among his own citizens from entirely preventable causes, a responsible President, say for example a Hawaiian-born Harvard graduate whos last name rhymes with no drama, might of course attempt to actually do something about all of these deaths. Facing a Congress stacked with Republicans thoroughly bribed by the oil industry that aims to sabotage any such efforts , this hypothetical President might then endeavor to use his vast Presidential powers to address the crisis...

As you may have ascertained by now, this President is not hypothetical, his name is Barack Obama , and over the last 8 years hes been responsible for implementing the greatest environmental progress in human history . Aside from protecting over 548,000,000 acres of wilderness on land and in the oceans, the centerpiece of Obamas environmental legacy is the 35 Executive Orders he signed to bypass Congress and address the climate crisis head on, most significantly the Clean Power Plan, which seeks to regulate and drastically reduce emissions and toxic pollutants coming from coal power plants that cause an estimated 13,000 premature deaths, 20,000 heart attacks, and $100 billion in health-related costs annually .

And Trump has vowed to kill the Clean Power Plan , along with all of Obamas Executive Orders aimed at addressing the global warming hoax, on his first day in office.

But Trumps efforts at undoing Obamas clean air and water protections, and administering CPR to failing coal corporations might as well be an effort to choke thousands of North Americans to death with respiratory illnesses, and inject mercury and arsenic right into our bloodstream.

Coal power plants are the largest source of mercury in the United States , an extremely toxic heavy metal that causes birth defects, brain damage and heart problems . Coal is also the largest source of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the country, as well a significant source of smog, acid rain, arsenic and other heavy metal contamination mentioned above.

But Donald Trump isnt just working hard to poison the air in your lungs. Rest assured hes also endeavoring to poison the water that you drink as well by eliminating Clean Water Act protections on rivers and lakes across the country , and contaminating forests, soils and wild ecosystems across America by increasing fossil fuel extraction on public lands .

And all of these efforts at poisoning Americans for the sake of higher profits for his oil-soaked cabinet of billionaires , from the suicide bomber hes put in place to gut the Environmental Protection Agency , to his Vladimir Putin-approved choice of the CEO of Exxon-Mobil hes appointed Secretary of State, dont even take into account the existential threat that climate change poses to United States , and life on Earth in general.

But then again, thats only if you believe 99.99% of the Earths climate scientists over the Twitter fingers of a serial molester.

Trump is, after all, already doing his best to help suppress that information, and keep us blind in the face of impending mass extinction by making the shockingly stupid decision to eliminate the monitoring of our Earths atmosphere by the most capable organization equipped of doing that work, NASA .

Regardless of how many impeachable actions Donald Trump undertakes as President (or has already ) it is unlikely a Republican Congress will apprehend one of their own, and Donald Trump is of course only part of the problem. In the words of Noam Chomsky, the Republican Party itself has become the most dangerous organization in the world today due to its suicidally short-sighted, pro-mass extinction policies. Well Congress is up for grabs once again in 2018, and regaining a Democratic majority there and in the Senate is absolutely essential in limiting the damage Trump can cause over the next 4 years, as well as in ensuring he faces legal consequences for any and all impeachable offenses he may commit as President.

Class action lawsuits against Trump and the GOP for his attempts at poisoning millions of Americans are also a logical and potentially effective course of action. If someone can be sued for not shoveling their driveway, and a company can be sued for making toxic products, why cant the land of lawsuits put together a successful case against a criminally irresponsible President whos actions will sicken and kill thousands of Americans?

But if Trump has an Achilles heel (other than his arrogance, that could one day lead him to avoid informed advice and do something that gets him impeached) it is his ego. In the most immediate terms, from Day 1 of his inauguration there needs to be a political cost associated with his efforts at destroying the environmental progress won by the Obama administration, in the form of public protest, social media campaigns, and most crucially, voicing your concerns in person and over the phone to elected officials.

Trump cares deeply about his image, (which is why Im going to share the image below, to remind you that his knowledge of deeply pressing global issues is about as thin as that thing he has glued to his head) and how he is perceived by the public, so it is up to the American people to use their freedom of speech and let him know how they feel about being literally poisoned by his corrupt and ignorant policies. Being the fool that he is, Trump often responds directly to criticism, potentially giving new life and media attention to causes like climate change and the poisoning of Americans en masse by the fossil fuel industry that are chronically under-reported.

But heres the biggest takeaway: we do not need to wait until 2018 to make a difference. Politicians, especially Congressmen, who are in constant re-election mode, do listen to their constituents if enough of them raise their voices. Get your Senator and Congressman on speed dial and let them know exactly how you feel about Trumps actions, especially if your representative is a Republican. And of course there are a million things that can be done at the city and State level to address lethal environmental contamination, all of which will become even more urgent with such a disaster taking place in Washington D.C.

One thing is for certain: if youre reading this article then youre clearly still breathing, and capable of making a difference. The biggest victims of Trumps poisonous actions, especially wild animals , children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, need the rest of us to do everything humanly possible to defend our air, water, lands and lives from the malevolent forces at work in the White House and Capitol buildings. I invite you to share your ideas below on how best to accomplish that!

NOTE: this article was inspired by the research I did for a recent music video, called Earth To America (What The World Thinks About President Donald Trump) linked below.
