Jennifer Lawrence's Haircut Makes Waves At The GLAAD Media Awards (PHOTOS)

PICS: Jennifer Lawrence's Cute New Cut
|

Jennifer Lawrence has been laying low since her Best Actress Oscar win back in February -- and boy, have we missed her. We sure were glad to see her at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, but the actress' first red carpet appearance in months had us do a double-take.

J. Law has made a major change since we saw her last: She cut her hair! Lawrence's new short hairstyle features a sideswept, shaggy fringe fanning around her round face. She warms up the new 'do with honey-colored highlights that complement her tanned skin tone well. Wavy layers lend an unkempt feel for the cut that we find fitting for a low-maintenance gal like Lawrence.

Shortly after her Oscar win, the naturally blonde "Hunger Games" star crossed back over to the dark side, dyeing her hair brown for her role in the film's sequel. We appreciate Lawrence's all-around efforts to enhance her craft, but we're happy to see her with a shorter, lighter style, as we think a less severe look suits her light-hearted spirit well.

Lawrence wore a David Koma dress and kept her makeup relatively simple, opting for a nude lip and smoky eye. We're not crazy about the lip color -- we think the dull tint makes J. Law look washed out -- but we applaud her choice to tone down other elements of her look in order to let her haircut do the talking.

Do you like Jennifer's loose 'do, or do you prefer her with a sleeker style? Let us know in the comments!
