Jimmy Fallon Gets Serious For David Bowie Impression With Chris Martin

We can be serious, just for one day.

These guys are stars, man.

Chris Martin recently dropped by "The Tonight Show," so obviously Jimmy Fallon was going to wander across him playing David Bowie 's "Life on Mars" backstage. That sort of thing probably happens all the time. What's a little new is Fallon didn't ham it up.

Instead "The Tonight Show" host just went HAM, pulling off a super serious Bowie impression while Martin provided the piano. Captain Kirk Douglas even came in to add some guitar.

Getting this serious is a rarity on "The Tonight Show." Another sketch recently consisted of Fallon and Jake  Gyllenhaal basically just spitting food on each other. So this is really more of a space oddity than anything else, but it's still cool for Fallon to be a hero serious just for one day.

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
