Meet Kellee Maize, The Daughter '70s Heartthrob Jimmy McNichol Never Knew He Had (VIDEO)

Can You Guess Who This Aspiring Female Rapper's Famous Father Is?
|

In 2010, former teen idol Jimmy McNichol found out he had fathered a daughter from a relationship he had when he was 18. Now at age 53, McNichol is making up for lost time. On his upcoming "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" appearance, we meet his daughter Kellee Maize , an aspiring female rapper.

"I've known I've been adopted since I was a little child," Maize says. "And so when I did end up figuring out that he was my father, and deciding to pursue that, it was an incredibly emotional experience."

When Maize found out who her famous father was, she says her musical aspirations suddenly made sense. In the 1970s, McNichol and his sister, Kristy McNichol, were the most sought after siblings in Hollywood. Along with starring in popular movies of the week and the television series "California Fever," the McNichols recorded their own disco album in 1978.

In the above video, we see Maize working on a rap video, following in her father's footsteps. "I'm just thrilled," McNichol says. "Just being around her and spending time and just watching her grow and knowing that I'm going to be there for the rest of her life."

"I couldn't be happier," he beams.

Jimmy McNichol's full interview airs on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN .
