UPDATE (Oct. 15): John Stamos has officially been charged for driving under the influence , the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office confirms.

Stamos' arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 16. He faces a maximum sentence of six months in jail if convicted.

The case is still under investigation by the Beverly Hills Police Department.

PREVIOUSLY (Oct. 8, 2015): John Stamos was reportedly under the influence of GHB , the date rape drug, when he was arrested in June, TMZ reports. The site also reports that Stamos will be charged for driving under the influence because the drug was in his system.

The actor was apparently taking the drug as a sleep and weight loss aid , Gossip Cop reports.

Stamos was arrested on June 12 for driving under the influence after multiple motorists alerted police about an "erratic driver." The police initially thought the "grandfathered" star might be dealing with a medical situation, so they brought him to Cedars Sinai hospital. Once there, it was determined Stamos was in fact under the influence and he was arrested.

After his arrest, Stamos checked into rehab for substance abuse. He completed a month-long program and then assured his fans he was back and ready to work tweeting , "I'm back! Took a month off to take care of things. Healthy."

The Huffington Post has reached out to Stamos' reps for comment.
