Josh Duggar's Wife Speaks Out About Cheating Scandal

"Not only was it a betrayal against me, but it was also a betrayal for those who call themselves Christian."

In 2015, Josh Duggar admitted to sexually molesting underage girls (including his sisters) as a teenager, confessed to cheating on his wife  and went to rehab for sex addiction.

TLC canceled the Duggar family's reality show , "19 Kids and Counting," in July, but the network has yet to completely part ways with the family and is airing a three-part special this month called, "Jill and Jessa: Counting On."

In Part 2 of the special, which airs on Dec. 20, Josh's wife Anna Duggar opens up about her husband's infidelity, which she called "a betrayal."

“It was definitely a hard thing. I think it is such a betrayal for a spouse to go through what we’re walking through," she said. "It was hard to realize that it was such a public thing, and so, not only was it a betrayal against me, but it was also a betrayal for those who call themselves Christian, because here we were as a Christian couple and everyone was able to see us get married and to vow before God to be loyal to each other. And that loyalty was broken.”

Anna, who gave birth to the couple's fourth child just one month before Josh admitted to cheating on her, went on to say the scandal caught her by surprise.

“It was just like, how could this happen in our marriage? Josh was my first love, my one and only, but I knew that my only hope was to cling to my faith, because I knew if I went off of what I was feeling, I would turn a mess into a disaster," she said. "In the stun and shock of everything, I was just praying to God to help me respond to this.”

Meanwhile, Josh's sisters Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald, who were two of Josh's five sexual abuse victims, said on the special's first episode that while they have forgiven their brother, they were "devastated" by the cheating scandal.

"Over the years, Josh worked really hard to repair our trust in him, and he became someone we could really look up to," Jessa explained. "Josh ended up confessing to us that he had gotten addicted to pornography and had been unfaithful to his wife, and we were devastated. It felt like it was just a bad dream. How could this happen?"

The future of Josh and Anna's marriage is uncertain as she reportedly moved with her children into her parents' home in Florida.  Josh is currently being sued by adult film star and model Danica Dillon , who claims he assaulted her while they were having consensual sex.
