Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Judith Light has nothing but praise for her " Who's The Boss? " co-star Danny Pintauro, who recently revealed that he's HIV-positive

Light, 66, told HuffPost Live in an interview this week that she was "so proud" of Pintauro, who played her son for eight seasons on the iconic ABC sitcom.

"The process for him to do this and to be that brave and that courageous is incredibly moving to me," Light said. "This is a young man who has been through a lot."

Light said she had "great respect" for Pintauro's latest move, noting, "Do you know how many people he's going to affect? How many lives he's going to save?"

Pintauro, who came out of the closet in 1997, tied the knot with husband Wil Tabares in California last year.

Meanwhile, Light has been an outspoken advocate for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community for quite some time, as evidenced by her involvement with the Matthew Shepard Foundation , the Point Foundation , Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and other organizations. Her latest role on the Amazon series, "Transparent ," only deepened that commitment.
