Julianne Hough Is 'Really Bad' At Phone Sex

Maybe that's why the "American Idol" phone lines were always so busy ...

Julianne Hough covers the February issue of Cosmopolitan and spills the tea about Ryan Seacrest and their very public breakup , her real feelings about launching pad "Dancing with the Stars" and how she tries (and fails) to use phone sex to spice up her relationship with Canadian hockey star Brooks Laich .

“Oh, for sure. But I’m really bad at it," she told Cosmo on whether she has phone sex with her long-distance fiancé. "I’ll get halfway through and start laughing. It’s an art. I applaud people who are good at it. They need to come and help me keep a straight face!”

Before Laich put a ring on it back in August , Hough dated Kardashian overlord Ryan Seacrest for almost three years. The two split in 2013, citing busy schedules as the root of the relationship's demise.

"I definitely hated that everyone had an opinion about what I was going through," she said about her breakup with the "American Idol" host. "At the time, I was constantly running and touring, which sometimes looked like I was totally fine and couldn’t care less, which wasn’t the truth. But it was my form of being able to deal.”

Since her days on "Dancing with the Stars," Hough has gone on to become one of the series' most successful alums, starring in Hollywood flicks like "Rock of Ages" and "Safe Haven."

“If someone told me they hadn’t seen 'Dancing with the Stars,' I would say, 'Oh, good!'" she told the mag. "Everything I was getting was amazing, but I felt like, I’m so much more than this. I want to be respected as a singer and an actress.”

Hopefully her next role as Sandy in Fox's upcoming live production of the beloved musical "Grease" will further solidify her standing as an actress first and foremost.
