IndyCar Driver Justin Wilson Saves Lives With Organ Donations

IndyCar driver Justin Wilson died on Monday night  at the age of 37. He sustained a head injury after he was hit by debris and crashed during a race at Pocono Raceway on Sunday. Wilson is survived by his wife and young daughters, and left a strong legacy within the auto racing community .

Moreover, what he physically left behind is now helping others live on. His younger brother, IndyCar racer Stefan Wilson, tweeted on Tuesday that Justin's organs have been donated  and will help save the lives of six people. 

Wilson was one of 120 million registered organ donors in the U.S.  Although millions have registered, an average of 22 Americans die every day  waiting for transplants, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Each day, however, 79 people on average receive organ transplants.
