Kansas City Royals outfielder Jonny Gomes only played in 12 games for the team after being acquired in August , but on Tuesday in Kansas City, he still gave an emotional salvo at the Royals' massive World Series victory parade.

Over 800,000 people -- roughly double the population of Kansas City -- witnessed Gomes, carrying a giant American flag like a proper bannerman, deliver the most impassioned speech invoking American exceptionalism since the president's in "Independence Day."

The Royals were the best team in baseball this season despite lacking individual accolades and superstars. Gomes made sure to let everyone know, calling out the prospective American League award winners for 2015:

Cy Young Winner [David Price]. Not on our team. Beat him. Rookie of the Year [Carlos Correa]. Not on our team. We beat him. MVP of the whole league [Josh Donaldson]. Sorry guys, not on our team. But we beat that guy, too!

After putting the Royals' opponents to his verbal sword, Gomes peaced out in an empathetic, beautifully obnoxious way.

“Y’all wanna be politically correct? I’m an un-politically correct person. We whooped their ass!” he shouted before dropping the mic.

What a time to be Jonny Gomes.
