Man Dances With Alzheimer's Grandma, Completely Brightens Her Day

A beautiful moment captured between a New Zealand man and his 93-year-old great-grandmother with Alzheimer's has gone viral on Facebook after touching the hearts of millions.

Jarryd Stoneman, 23, posted the sweet video to his Facebook page earlier this month and so far it has gotten nearly 14 million views.

"Asked nanny for a dance she can't remember much but she still knows how to move," Stoneman wrote. He told The New Zealand Herald  he's a full-time caregiver for his great-grandma, Katie Thomas, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 12 years ago. 

"Every morning I go in there and say good morning, turn the radio on. But that morning I asked her for a dance, and I just thought I would record it," Stoneman said.

Playing "7 Years" by Lukas Graham, Stoneman carefully swayed with his "nanny", getting down on his knees at one point to meet her height, giving her a kiss and holding her hands. Nanny's glee is evident as she smiles throughout the video. "Can't walk but you can dance!" Stoneman says.

Stoneman says he's caring for his nanny so that his mother can keep her job. "I just think more people should seize the opportunity with their grandparents while they're there," Stoneman said.

The all-around nice guy also made the news in New Zealand  when he ran into a burning home to save a family's dog in 2014.
