Mariah Carey Does Will Ferrell's Makeup, Reveals She's A Closet 'Elf' Fan

Christmas titan meets Christmas titan.

Before Mariah Carey was MARIAH CAREY, she was pretty much Frenchy from "Grease" -- a beauty school dropout  who knows her way around a curling iron. Never mind, who are we kidding? Mariah was always a Rizzo.

Well, it looks like she's getting back to her roots with none other than Mr. Will Ferrell. Yeah, we're confused too.

The "Zoolander 2" star, now a full-fledged member of the Lambily -- that's what Carey's fans call themselves, for the uninitiated -- visited the diva at her Caesar's Palace show "Mariah #1 to Infinity" on Saturday.

The two hit it off big time. The queen of pop, R&B, Christmas, etc. posted several snaps of the encounter on her Instagram page, including one pic of herself giving Ferrell the ol' Mariah Carey makeup treatment sans the photoshopping.

"MC #beautyschooldropout  gives #willferrell a touch up," she captioned the cute photo of two stars we thought would never breathe the same air.

The other pics from the evening showcase Mariah, stunning in a shimmering gold dress, posing with Ferrell and wife Viveca Paulin alongside her crew.

She added the hashtag "#elf forever" to one of the photos and now all we want to do in this life is watch "Elf" with Mariah Carey.

Anyone surprised Mariah Carey actually recognized the presence of another famous human being and celebrated their work? We thought she'd be all like, "Buddy...?"
