Michelle Fahle: Naperville 14-Year-Old Who Died Had H1N1

The Naperville North High School freshman who died Thursday had H1N1, school officials announced Friday.

Michelle Fahle, 14, died after being rushed to the hospital Thursday following several days of flu like symptoms, the Daily Herald reported . On Friday, Naperville North announced that she had H1N1, though officials made clear that it has not been established as the actual cause of death.

DuPage County health officials said an investigation into the extent of H1N1's role in Fahle's death would take up to 14 days.

Fahle's best friend told the the Tribune that both girls got sick two weeks ago after hugging a girl who later tested positive for swine flu.

Friends and family set up a Facebook page and YouTube slideshow in her honor.
