Miss Colombias Reaction To Steve Harvey Is Better Than The Internets

Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez took Steve Harvey's giant f**k up in stride, after the TV host announced the wrong Miss Universe winner  Sunday night.

Harvey crowned Gutiérrez Miss Universe 2015 on live TV before coming back on stage to announce that he had named the wrong winner. Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was the actual winner, and Gutiérrez had to give up the crown after a brief celebration. 

“Listen folks, let me just take control of this,” Harvey said. “This is exactly what’s on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. A horrible mistake.”

After the cringeworthy moment, Gutiérrez was stopped backstage and offered a message of gratitude. 

"Everything happens for a reason," she said. "So I'm happy for all of what I did for becoming this dream." 

Wurtzbach admitted the experience was a unique one. 

"It's a very non-traditional crowning moment," she said. 

The other contestants knew something was amiss when Harvey's announcement differed from the teleprompter. 

"I really feel for Philippines, obviously it was a complete mistake ," Miss Australia Monika Radulovic told the Daily Telegraph. "We saw the prompter say Philippines so we knew something was wrong. We couldn't believe what had happened."

Sigh.
