Ive written before about the awkward and unsolicited sexual advances many female cosplayers tend to receive as a result of horny people thinking that playing dress up somehow denotes sexual availability and promiscuity. (Neither of which I have a problem with, but like, dont assume, you know? And nobody likes unsolicited dick pics.) I understand that a lot of cosplayers are attractive. I understand that a lot of costumes can be really sexy. So if costumed hotties are your thing, instead of bugging Jessica Nigri about pursuing a career in pornography , why not just get off to actual cosplay porn?

Everybody knows what pornography is, but if youve somehow not being paying attention to currently trending mainstream... ification of nerd culture and are unaware of what cosplay is, Ill fill you in. Its basically a mashup of the words costume and play. Cosplaying is literally just dressing up in a costume of your choice and wearing it somewhere, typically to a convention, movie premiere, or other event. The most popular cosplays are typically from popular comic books, games, cartoons, and movies.

With that in mind, yeah, cosplay porn is definitely a thing, and its exactly what it sounds like. In my observations, it tends to be vastly more diverse than mainstream porn, which is not nearly as body-positive, female-friendly, or racially and ethnically diverse as Id like. Yeah, Im someone who actually cares enough about their spank bank deposits to wish theyd meet the same standards I apply to my non-sexual media. Call me crazy, I just dont like the prevalence of violence and misogyny in mainstream porn, as well as the dated and offensive racial stereotypes that tend to plague it . Cosplay porn, on the other hand, is mainly about the characters being portrayed, which tends to make it less ethically taxing and a lot more fun; how can it not be when everyones in geeked-out costumes? You wanna see Wonder Woman and Batman go to town? There ya go. Its also typically independently produced by performers who are self-proclaimed geeks. They choose who and what they want to create, which reduces the chances of having viewed some sort of violently coerced, uncomfortable shit show. Independently produced tends to be better in general, but thats another article for another day.

That said, there are several sites that cater specifically to the amusing genre of cosplay porn. One such site is Pixel-Vixens.com , which my friend Kali Neko models for.

Like most of the other cosplay porn sites, the content Pixel Vixens offers largely consists of photosets in which the cosplayers dress up as, like, Raven from the Teen Titans, posed in a particular setting, shedding their clothes until theyre down to their skivvies and eventually completely naked towards the end of the set. Its like nerdy nude modeling, which can be really fucking cool if you ask me. Unlike other erotic cosplay sites, Pixel Vixens is the only one that offers live action videos of hardcore banging, so if nude stills arent doing it for you, you can watch My Little Porny (yeah, thats a real title for a real pornographic video ). Pixel Vixens also promotes and encourages diversity in terms of race, gender, and body type, as can be seen on their website:

I am male/female/trans/agender/black/white/asian/fat/skinny/ect... will you still accept me? Pixel Vixens is all about all people being beautiful in their own way. We will never turn someone away because of a reason such as sexual orientation, body size, or gender. We are equal opportunist in every way. Pixel-Vixens.com, Applicant FAQ

I dont know about you, but something about that makes me feel strangely warm and fuzzy inside, as opposed to thinking about how mainstream porn tends to relegate anyone outside of eurocentric ideals to cringey roles in shitty subcategories. If nothing else, the concept and existence of cosplay pornography is, you know, interesting. Even if its not your thing, youve come this far in the article because it holds your attention on some level. You can check it out; Im not one to judge, and thats what private browsing and incognito mode are for.
