'Younger' Star Nico Tortorella: Dating Women Is Harder Than Men

The actor elaborates on what identifying as "sexually fluid" means to him.

For Nico Tortorella, identifying as “ sexually fluid ” is just about being open to loving people.

The 28-year-old “Younger” star first spoke publicly about his sexuality in June, telling the “The Drop-In with Will Malnati ” podcast that he likes to think of himself as “label-less,” because he doesn’t “see the world as gender binary — man, woman.”

The actor elaborated further in an “Access Hollywood ” interview Tuesday, which can be viewed above. When pressed to define what “sexually fluid” meant, he said, “It means I do whatever I want, whenever I want it and I don’t really have a problem with it.”

He went on to note, “I think that everybody has the right to do what they want and be the person that they want to be, as long as it’s effecting positive change in the world.”

Although Tortorella didn’t have a preference when it came to having a relationship with a man or a woman, he had a very conclusive answer as to which was more difficult to date. “Women,” he quipped.

In September, the actor opened up about being in a same-sex relationship with Kyle Krieger , a hairstylist and Instagram personality , in an installment of his “The Love Bomb ” podcast. “So sometimes I date boys not because I’m gay, necessarily, but because I’m confident,” he said in the podcast. Although the couple has since parted ways, he said it was “pretty much game on” after he and Krieger met.

At the time when the podcast was released, Krieger shared a snapshot of the pair on Instagram

As refreshingly candid as Tortorella has been about his personal life, the actor has said that many fans have struggled to understand his viewpoints. “Look, a lot of people don’t think that the way that I live my life is a real thing, that it exists, that having a broad spectrum of sexual orientation is even possible,” he told Elle magazine in September. “I am driven by love and I have been in love with a handful of different people, men and women.”

So great to see you doing you, Nico!
