True love is when you and your husband build a potato launcher together and then illegally trespass on a golf course to shoot it off with your kids Erika Sauter

I love that were best friends and we share adventures and experiences together. I love that we spend time apart from one another because being up each others asses would make us nuts. I love that we get to plan today and our future.

No relationship is perfect. Its far more real than that. I love my husband and he loves me. I know this because we tell each other every day. Not only in words but also our actions.

I love that we think differently, have our own opinions and agree on nothing. This provides us the opportunity to learn from each other and grow.

I love that every day he tells me I look beautiful. Even on the days that we know I dont. Beauty isnt necessarily how you look but more so who you are. He thinks hes simple. I think hes complicated. He thinks I handle things with grace. I think I need a beer.

He believes in me in a way that no one else ever has.

I love that hes a slob while Im an over obsessive neat freak. Its taught him to clean up after himself. Its taught me to loosen up a bit.

I love that we spoon.

I love that we are in agreement to stop listening to the news. Thats at least one thing we agree on. Oh, and we both dislike almonds.

I love that he thrives off technology while I thrive off books. We can lay in bed together while hes cracked out on his laptop and Im reading 1709 pages of Shakespeares complete works. After so much time together we still make it a point to go on dates and sometimes when the mood strikes were even spontaneous.

I love that he thinks hes the least stubborn in our family and when I point out our son is he says, I was excluding him. I love that he thinks hes funny, which hes not and in turn actually makes him funny.

I love that were content doing nothing together, just drinking a cup of coffee and sitting by the fire. I love that we make it a point to be better people today then we were yesterday, not only for each other and our children but for ourselves as well.

I love that he doesnt remember the names of our eight cats. I get frustrated because he hardly remembers anything.

We have our good days and our bad days and on our bad days he always asks, Are we okay?

I hope so, I say. Because were married and stuck with each other so if not the next 80 years are going to suck.

We usually make out after that.

Im crazy in love with him and that may never change. Sure, were different. Sure, we dont always agree. We do however, accept each others flaws. We make compromises and meet in the middle. I dont make a gross face when he cooks potato casserole with tater tots and Velveeta cheese and he watches New Girl with me.

I love that he doesnt judge me for writing this story about him.

Most importantly, Im undoubtedly grateful he chose me. Id like to believe that he is too.
