Mind-Bending Optical Illusion Gives Woman A Hilariously Long Arm

Wait. What?!?

No, the woman featured in this photograph doesn’t really have the world’s longest arm. Although at first glance, the snap does suggest otherwise:

Eleanor Bailey , 18, shared the picture of her sister Tabitha, 23, posing with friends at a Beyonc é -themed event at the De Helling nightclub in Utrecht, Netherlands, to Twitter on Monday.

Because of the dark color of her friends’ clothes and the coincidental position of her limb, master’s student Tabitha’s arm appears to stretch way out in front of two of her pals. The amusing image has since gone viral.

“As soon as I saw the photo, I knew people would like it,” Eleanor Bailey, who lives in Leeds in northern England, told HuffPost via email on Wednesday. “But neither of us were expecting this response. We find it very funny though.”

For people still struggling to decode the image and work out what’s really going on, Twitter user @HORR9R has posted this handy explainer:
