This Clip Of Parents Thanking Their Kid's Stepparents Will Make You Weepy

It's love, not just biological ties, that really makes a family.

Stepparents don't tend to get the recognition they deserve for everything they do for their stepkids.

But in a sweet new video from SoulPancake, two parents give thanks to their son's stepparents -- and remind us that family is so much more than biological ties.

In the clip, divorced couple Jamey and Tara share their story, admitting they had their reservations when each introduced a new partner to their son Nakhjavani. Tara said not being with her son every single day is especially hard for her.

"I don't care who these other people are with my kid -- it's just not me," Tara says. "I love Jamey and I love [his wife] Natasha but it's not me and that's my struggle. That's where I fall apart."

But with time, each realized how much Nakhjavani benefited from having two extra parents in his life. Midway through the clip, the pair surprise Natasha and Tara's husband Jason, reading aloud thank-you letters they wrote to them.

"I know how powerful it is for a boy to see that his mother is loved, because that's how he's going to treat his wife -- and you're doing that for him," Jamey tells Jason. "You're doing the things I couldn't do. And I love you for that, man. I'm suppose to not love you for that, but I do."
