Rebel Wilson Believes Her Drink Was Spiked At A Trendy Club

The 36-year-old shared her scary experience.

Rebel Wilson  revealed she thinks she might've been drugged at a club in a series of tweets on Thursday.

"The Brothers Grimsby" actress shared her scary experience as a warning for her fans, telling them "please be super careful about what you drink when out at clubs and bars at night."

The 36-year-old did not reveal the location or name of the club she attended. Unfortunately, the experience is a scary reminder that things like this can happen to anyone, anywhere.

According to a 2005 paper documenting drug-facilitated sexual assault in America , the Department of Justice found that 4 percent of sexual assault victims were drugged . The Center for Disease Control found in a 2011 survey that one in five women have been raped in their lifetime , with 9.3 percent of attacks facilitated by drugs or alcohol. And yet, Colby Bruno, a senior legal counsel at the Victim Rights Law Center, told The Huffington Post in 2014 that date rape drugs are oftentimes difficult to detect because of their design.

"Because these drugs are engineered specifically to be out of a person’s system within a matter of hours after ingestion, we don’t really know how prevalent they are," Bruno said. "Some victims report experiencing a black out like they have never experienced before, but by the time they regain consciousness and go to the hospital, there is no trace of the drug in their system."

"Please act as soon as you feel something strange and get yourself to safety," Wilson wrote, telling fans she only drank part of her drink before she "realized something wasn't quite right in time to get home before it really hit me."
