Sheryl Sandberg has had some pretty impressive jobs throughout her career: chief of staff for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Google vice president and now chief operating officer for Facebook . In this exclusive clip from a new episode of Oprahs Next Chapter, Sandberg talks to Oprah about being a powerful female leader and what it takes to rise through the ranks.

But Sandberg isnt just a successful businesswoman. Shes also a working mom . Many people wonder how the Facebook executive has been able to achieve a work-life balance and have it all. In this clip, Sandberg pounces on the whole idea of having it all, saying that's a dangerous phrase for women.

Having it all is the worst, she tells Oprah . No matter how much we all have and how grateful we are for what we have, no one has it all, because we all make tradeoffs every single day, every single minute.

This wasnt always the case, Sandberg says. In her mothers days, that generation worked 9-to-5 jobs without the expectation of going beyond those 40-hour workweeks. Today, its a different story. Whats happened now [is] we are all connected," she says. "My industry is part of the problem, right? We are connected all the time. We expect our colleagues at work to always be available, and the amount of time mothers spend one-on-one with their kids is totally changed. The standards have shifted. Were supposed to be always on as mothers and were supposed to be always on as employees. We cant do that. None of us can do that.
