Enormous Chunks Of Falling Snow Take Out Unwitting Pedestrians

The white stuff had built up on the roof of a mosque in Rize, Turkey.

Unwitting pedestrians were wiped out when large chunks of snow fell from the roof of a mosque in Turkey.

Surveillance footage filmed in the northeastern Black Sea coastal city of Rize shows people on a sidewalk being entirely blanketed by the white stuff.

Some were buried beneath the avalanche and were dug out by quick-thinking passers-by.

Two women were hospitalized following the dramatic incident, according to the BBC. Their current condition is not known.

The snow built up on the roof over several days as Turkey experienced heavy winter weather, according to Daily Sabah.

Eight people were killed and 26 injured on Monday when a passenger bus traveling from Kirsehir to Ankara drifted on an icy road and overturned.
