Stephen Colbert Begs Britain To Ignore Donald Trump And 'Take Us Back'

Stephen Colbert has lightheartedly begged Britain to ignore President Donald Trump’s claim that America is “doing just fine.”

Trump directed the statement at United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May earlier in the week after she rebuked him for retweeting anti-Muslim videos  that were initially posted by British far-right leader Jayda Fransen.

On Friday’s “Late Show,” host Colbert told English viewers: “Don’t believe him.”

“England, we need your help,” he jokingly added. “Take us back. We’ll be good. We’ll even drink tea.”
