I still remember the first time I heard Fleetwood Mac 's "Landslide." Even though it was almost three decades after the song was initially released, I fell in love with singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks . I am not alone, as the gravel-voiced songstress continues to influence contemporary musicians like Taylor Swift and Florence Welch . After leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1981, Nicks struck out on her own as solo artist, recording songs such as "Edge of Seventeen," and "Stand Back."

Although I was first obsessed with Nicks' music, her inimitable rock star style is equally inspiring. The woman is basically the definition of boho. If only I could pull off her '70s "Gold Dust Woman" top hats, her tousled '80s hair and the wacky shawls she favors today.
