When we first met Malia Obama , she was a little kid wearing pink barrettes and patent leather Mary Janes. But since she first hit the White House, the girl has grown up . Now, she is arguably as much of a style icon as her mama   and with a birthday on Independence Day, she gave many Twitter users something extra to celebrate Tuesday. 

In fact, there seemed to be a tongue-in-cheek movement to temporarily rebrand the Fourth of July as Malia Obama Day .

What’s not to love ? The 19-year-old beauty is headed to Harvard University in the fall , but has filled her post-White House time with killer internship outfits , a Dakota Access Pipeline protest , and a nice vacation .
