Stolen Taco Truck Hits School Bus, Crashes Into Propane Tanker

Somehow, this was not a Will Ferrell movie.

A stolen taco truck attempting to evade police collided with a school bus full of children in San Bernardino, California, before crashing into a propane tanker on Monday.

Two suspects, identified as Sean Fowler, 20, and Daiquon Horne, 22, attempted to flee the scene following the crash, police say. At least one officer opened fire, but did not hit the suspects, who were soon taken into custody.

It was just a crazy scene ,” San Bernardino police Lt. Rich Lawhead told the Los Angeles Times.

The pursuit began around 9:30 a.m., when authorities located the taco truck, which had previously been reported as stolen. The chase lasted about two miles and reached speeds of about 80 miles per hour , according to ABC-7.

About 45 children were on their way to school when the taco truck sideswiped their bus. No children were injured , the San Bernardino City Unified School District told KTLA.

The truck belongs to Amapola Rico Taco , a catering company that also operates five restaurants in the area. Reports said that the intersection where the taco truck hit the propane tanker reeked of gas following the incident.

Both suspects face charges of assault, grand theft auto and evading police.
