Taryn Manning Arrested: '8 Mile' Actress Accused Of Assaulting Makeup Artist

UPDATE: Holly Hartman, the makeup artist whom Manning is charged with assaulting, wants to drop all charges , Manning's lawyer Joe Tacopina told TMZ. According to the website, Manning and Hartman are close friends who are also roommates; a drunken fight after a night of partying reportedly led to the altercation.

Actress Taryn Manning was arrested for assaulting her makeup artist in New York Thursday morning, TMZ is reporting.

The 33-year-old actress, who has appeared in movies such as "8 Mile," "Crazy/Beautiful" and "Hustle and Flow," was reportedly kicking and punching her 23-year-old makeup artist at 5 a.m. Thursday morning in her room at New York's swanky Dream Downton hotel. Manning was charged with assault ; in the meantime, she has hired criminal defense attorney Joe Tacopina.

Manning has been making a move away from the big screen to music. She recently released a dance single , "Send Me Your Love," and previously recorded a song for the "8 Mile" soundtrack.
