Teen Jumps From Moving Car To Escape Abduction, Police Say

Watch the daring escape unfold on video.

A 17-year-old girl narrowly escaped abduction by jumping from a moving car, according to police in Connecticut.

Authorities said the victim, a Bridgeport high school student, was walking to school around 7 a.m. Monday when a woman driving a charcoal four-door Toyota Yaris pulled up alongside the teen and lured her into the vehicle.

The alleged abductor drove off with the teen, but the girl fought to get out, police said.

Surveillance cameras on the street captured the Toyota as it drove west on Boston Avenue, where police say the teen opened the front passenger door of the vehicle and rolled out onto the street.

The teen, who has not been identified, was not injured while making her escape. Her would-be abductor drove off and remains at large, authorities said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, roughly 40 years old, with freckles and black hair that was pulled up into a ponytail. The woman was last seen wearing a black leather jacket. The suspect’s vehicle was missing its rear bumper and had Styrofoam visible, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department at 203-581-5293.
