The Girl on the Train was declared 2015's Gone Girl, so of course the movie rights were snatched up before the book even hit shelves. Now, the film is poised to be one of 2016's big hits. Its first trailer is now online, casting Emily Blunt as the recently divorced Rachel, the titular commuter who becomes strangely fascinated by a couple she spots on her way to work every day. When one of them disappears, Rachel becomes entangled in the investigation.

"The Girl on the Train" is the latest from "The Help" and "Get On Up" director Tate Taylor. It also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Allison Janney, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans and Édgar Ramírez. The thriller opens Oct. 7.
