Pepperoni is the king of pizza toppings. Everything else falls under its dynasty. Facts are facts.

Tim McIntyre, vice president of communications for Domino's Pizza, told HuffPost that no matter the area of the country, pepperoni is number one.

"We don’t really see a state-by-state or even much of a regional preference in the U.S.," he said.

McIntyre said that after pepperoni, standard cheese pizza is the next most popular order, while pizza with pepperoni and sausage is third in the rankings.

The takeaway? The next time your host a pizza party, go with one pepperoni and one plain. The people will be pleased.
