Former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow won’t be  speaking at next week’s Republican National Convention despite rumors that he’d be present.

An earlier report from The New York Times said he’d be among the dozens of speakers at the Cleveland convention.

“It’s amazing how fast rumors fly, and that’s exactly what it: a rumor,” Tebow said in a Facebook post.

Tebow, perhaps best known for kneeling a lot,  has been an outspoken opponent of abortion. The 2010 Super Bowl  featured an ad from the anti-abortion group Focus On The Family in which Tebow’s mother recalled how she considered getting an abortion when she was pregnant. She decided not to and later gave birth to Tim Tebow.

The GOP will finalize its official 2016 platform at the convention, where Donald Trump is expected to secure the Republican presidential nomination. But it’s expected to shift farther to the right  on social issues such as same-sex marriage and transgender rights.

Those confirmed to speak  include House Speaker Paul Ryan , Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell , rumored vice presidential picks Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie  and billionaire tech mogul Peter Thiel.
