Many were in disbelief that Trump was elected as the next president. At first, I was one of those people, however, I soon found myself not surprised that he actually won. I cannot put it into words, but deep down, I knew Hilary was not going to win. Honestly, Donald Trump as the next president is the least of my worries. Donald Trump will soon realize he will not be able to do everything he wants to do. Unfortunately, I worry for the targeted groups Trump openly degraded throughout his campaign. Trump made his supporters feel comfortable enough to openly hate. Openly hate people for the color of the skin, religion, sexual orientation and the list goes on. Im not speaking about all of Trumps supporters, I'm speaking on the ignorant, racist, sexist, xenophobic and homophobic supporters. The supporters that believe all Muslim's are terrorist and should be "registered" into a system like the Jewish in the Holocaust. The same supporters that believe Black people should be taken back to Africa, the place our ancestors were forcefully taken from and shipped all over the world like product. It is heartbreaking to see people still thinking like this, but sadly it is just the beginning.

Just last week, less than 24 hours after Trump was projected as the 45th president, a friend of mine told me her younger cousins were told at school that they were going back to Africa now that Trump is in office. At the same school, a little girl had students pulling at her hijab and bullying her because she is Muslim. Thats not all! Another friend of mine, shared that her cousin who is younger than 5 years old was playing with other children and had to be removed by his mother because the children were singing "do you want to build a wall to keep out all the immigrants". These are CHILDREN and it is disheartening. So much has gone on since the news broke and it has been less than a week! Less than a week and numerous incidents across the country have sprung. I'm afraid for the children, I'm afraid for the lives of my black brothers and sister. I'm simply afraid of what these people will do because they believe their actions are okay. HOWEVER COMMA I want to make it clear, when I say I'm afraid, I do not mean "Im shaking in my boots" to walk outside. I know we can make it through this tough time, I just hate to see what will happen to this country in the next few months.

Racism will forever exist, if people continue to pass down hate to their children.

What bothers me the most about these people, especially the children, is that they are demonstrating learned behavior. These children were not brought into this world racist, yet they are exhibiting hate. Instead of explaining to their children why they look different or sound different, they were taught that they were better. Taught that these people didn't belong or these people stole our jobs. It is sad and utterly ridiculous. Racism will forever exist, if people continue to pass down hate to their children. So, I challenge and encourage my Black brothers and sisters to continue to educate those that do not understand. Yes, it is exhausting and yes, it is redundant, but we cannot stop educating others because some refuse to listen. This goes for all the other targeted groups, continue to fight by educating others. Trump may be the next president but this is not the end for us!
