Trump is becoming an increasingly isolated political figure. The number of politicians that are calling for his impeachment are steadily increasing, aides and friends are receiving criminal convictions for their activities while involved in his campaign for President, and everyday there are new calls by women who say they were sexually harassed by Donald Trump .

Trumps comments to Billy Bush on a bus during an Access Hollywood interview would make it impossible for him to get elected if he were facing voters today.

Trump tried to distance himself from Roy Moore. At first, he did not condemn the GOP Alabama Senate candidate accused by many women of inappropriate (and even criminal) sexual activities. He did, however, keep a safe distance from the situation. He wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted to wash his hands of it. However, since then, the drum has sounded louder and louder against Moore. Trumps ability to get bills passed in the Senate is so tenuous, he must have every single vote. A two vote margin has lead to frequent losses on key issues, if he is down to one he will be in serious trouble.

More importantly, the chorus about Trumps alleged sexual harassment is growing stronger everyday as well. Daily it is impossible to turn on the news without hearing a new story about the nefarious behavior of Trump over the years. Trumps comments to Billy Bush on a bus during an Access Hollywood interview would make it impossible for him to get elected if he were facing voters today. Everything has changed virtually overnight for Trump and for any other person who would use their position of power to exploit and victimize others.

If Roy Moore goes down, and all these other politicians have to resign, why shouldnt Trump?

Media executives and celebrities have been falling like flies since these stories began to break, but the political world still seems somewhat insulated. Congressmen John Conyers (D-MI) and Trent Franks (R-AZ) are the first to hit the road because of their behaviors, actually resigning from office. I believe that Sen. Al Franken is hedging his bets, telling reporters he will resign in a few weeks. What is he waiting for? In my opinion, the election votes in Alabama. If Roy Moore gets elected and the GOP allows him to caucus with them or take no actions against him, expect Franken to not budge and many of his colleagues calling for his departure to leave to change their minds too. It will not be fair to Democrats to leave if the GOP is not getting rid of their scandalous members. I am not much of a gambler, but I would put down money that if Moore wins, the GOP will declare Moore to be vetted and will allow him to be seated without any problem. Why? Because their President is depending on this. If Roy Moore goes down, and all these other politicians have to resign, why shouldnt Trump? If there is a legal justification for committees to examine the behaviors of these members of Congress, should that not be the case for the highest office holder in the country? Overnight, Roy Moore has become a firewall for the Trump administration. If Moore goes, what justification is there for Trump to stay?

Everything has changed virtually overnight for Trump and for any other person who would use their position of power to exploit and victimize others.

By the way, Donald Trump, not Harvey Weinstein or any of the other celebrities in media, is the real imputes behind this movement to challenge the disgraceful way women have been treated. This behavior has always been the case, sadly. The lefts passionate desire (justifiably) to go after Trump has certainly paid a role. The move against the powerful, sadly, seems to have little to do with the defense of women, but as a means of attacking the politicians they do not like. Sure, some of their own (like Franken and Conyers) might have to go down, but who cares as long as Trump ultimately suffers? It is sad that politics, not ethics or morality, is the primary driver in defending the rights of women that have long deserved to be protected? Trump should go for so many reasons in my opinion including his attitude towards women. However, it is a terrible testimony about our culture that politics became the only reason we became concerned about the treatment of women.
